Signing or Drawing on the Prints

After taking photos, users can sign or draw on the print layout before it is printed. Enable this by selecting Sign or draw on photos before printing in the Output Settings dialog.

Drawing tools

The print layout is displayed full screen with a menubar on the left. Tools available to users:

Colour palette — tap the palette icon to choose pen colour
Line width — tap the line width icon and use the slider to adjust brush size
Emojis/stickers — tap the emoji icon to place, move, resize, and rotate stickers
Frames — tap the frames icon to apply a frame overlay
Undo — tap the undo arrow to reverse the last action
Redo — tap the redo arrow to redo an undone action
Clear — tap the trashcan to start over
Print — tap the printer icon to accept and print
Cancel — tap the X to reject and return to the ready screen

Frames

Frames are PNG overlay images in the photo booth images folder with filenames starting with frame_ (e.g. frame_1.png, frame_2.png). They should be the same pixel size as the print layout with transparent areas where photos are positioned.

Customising the screen appearance

Place usermodifyprint.jpg in the photo booth images folder to replace the default black background.
Place usermodifyprint_overlay.png to add an instruction overlay visible on screen but not in the final print.
Replace icon PNG files in the icons subfolder of the installation folder, or place replacements in the photo booth images folder.

Settings (Shift+Ctrl+left-click to open)

Enable or disable individual menu items (colour, line width, emojis, frames, undo, clear, print, cancel).
Set initial pen colour and line width, and min/max line width range.
Set an inactivity timeout.
Configure emoji image folder (relative or absolute path; PNG images recommended at 128–1024px).
Set maximum number of print copies.
Set print preview position (centre, top, or bottom of screen).
Define clipping and exclusion regions to restrict where users can draw.
