Print Layout FX
Print compositing effects can be applied to individual photos in the print layout. To access them, right-click a photo in the Print Layout Editor and select Edit image position and effects….
Crop
Crop values are expressed as percentages of the image dimensions. To show only the left half: set Left to 0 and Width to 50. Cropped areas become transparent.
Opacity
Controls transparency from 0 (fully transparent) to 1 (fully opaque). Adding the same photo multiple times at different opacity values creates layered effects.
Contrast
Set between 0 and 2:
- 0 = flat grey (or a solid-colour silhouette with background removal)
- 1 = no change
- 2 = high contrast
Saturation
Set between 0 and 2:
- 0 = fully desaturated (greyscale)
- 1 = no change
- 2 = highly saturated
Blur
Gaussian blur — select and set a blur radius.
Motion blur — blurs in a linear direction to suggest movement. Set radius and angle in degrees. Placing a motion-blurred copy of the photo on top of the original creates an interesting speed-blur effect.
Colorize
Converts the photo to shades of a single colour. Enable the checkbox and click … to choose the colour.
Mirror
Flips the image horizontally.
Filter (LUT)
Apply a custom colour lookup table (LUT) filter. See LUTs and Filters for how to create filter files.
Blend modes
Controls how the photo blends with the print layout below it. Available modes include: normal, multiply, screen, darken, lighten, dissolve, color burn, linear burn, darker color, lighter color, color dodge, linear dodge, overlay, soft light, hard light, vivid light, linear light, pin light, hard mix, difference, exclusion, hue, saturation, color, luminosity, subtract, division.
Use original unprocessed image
Enable this to use the raw camera image before any processing (green screen, AI background removal, AI effects). Useful for displaying “before and after” images side by side in one print layout.
