LUTs and Filters

Custom colour filters can be applied to photos, GIFs, and videos in Remote Pro. Filters use a colour lookup table (LUT) to map each colour in the photo to a new value — enabling effects such as high-contrast B&W, sepia, false colour, and Instagram-style grades.

Breeze uses its own LUT implementation. Do not export filter files as .3dcube files.

Creating a filter

1. Download the Photoshop Filter Template
2. Open the template in Photoshop. It contains a Pattern layer (the LUT) and a Sample Photo layer.
3. Disable the Pattern layer and enable the Sample Photo layer.

1. Add Photoshop Adjustment Layers to achieve the look you want.

Only colour adjustments are supported. You cannot apply sharpening, smoothing, or other spatial effects through a LUT.

1. Disable the Sample Photo layer and enable the Pattern layer.

1. Save the file as JPEG at 100% quality without changing the dimensions. The file must be 2048×1024 pixels.
2. Name the file filter1.jpg, filter2.jpg, filter3.jpg etc.
3. Copy the filter file into your photo booth images folder.

Saving at the wrong dimensions will prevent the filter from working.

Setting a default filter

In Photobooth Settings > Print Photos In, select the filter from the dropdown.

User-selected filters

Add touchscreen actions in the Touchscreen Editor to let guests choose a filter at the booth.

Filters in print layouts

Filters can also be applied to individual photos in the print layout using the Filter dropdown in Edit image position and effects. See Print Layout FX.
