What is Pulse?
A pulse system is a simple payment interface commonly used in vending and amusement machines, where a payment device sends a series of electrical pulses to represent a value (e.g. one pulse per unit of currency).
Unlike MDB, which provides two-way digital communication, pulse is a one-way signal from the payment device to the controller. Each pulse represents a fixed value, and the photo booth counts these pulses to determine how much credit has been added.
Pulse systems are straightforward and widely supported, but they offer limited control and feedback, as the booth cannot request specific amounts, confirm authorisations, or monitor detailed device status.
