Event Syncing Overview

Events are set up and created using the Event Editor and then synced across to your device(s).
Before you get started creating and editing events, it makes sense to first set up syncing between your PC and your device(s).

In this Guide

Installing Event Editor

Local Sync

Local Sync is a quick way to sync events when your PC and your device are on the same local network (typically at home or in the office).

Steps

  1. Open the Event Editor on your PC
  2. Click on Local Sync…
  3. Select your Event (or All Events) from the Sync List
  4. Open the Camera on your device
  5. Scan the QR code in the Event Editor
  6. Select Open in Breeze Booth

You will now see your events begin to download to your device. Once complete, you can select the Event you wish to run from the Event List.

Users may keep the local sync server running while editing events. Once settings are transferred, synchronization can also be performed directly from the Events screen.

Dropbox Sync

Syncing via Dropbox is the suggested method of syncing events to devices. As long as devices are connected to the internet and logged in to your Dropbox account, events can be synced.

Setting Up Dropbox

Ensure that Dropbox is installed on both your PC (running Event Editor) and your device(s) (running Breeze Booth). You must also be signed in.

  1. Open Breeze Booth on your device, go to Settings, and select Sign into Dropbox
  2. Dropbox will open on your device — allow the request to grant access
  3. If successful, you will be automatically returned to Breeze Booth
  4. On your PC, you should now have a Breeze Booth folder in Dropbox > Apps

Syncing Existing Events

If you have existing events (or wish to keep demo events downloaded):

  1. Move your existing events folder (typically in Documents > Breeze Booth for iPad) to Dropbox > Apps > Breeze Booth for iPad
  2. In Event Editor, go to File > Open and select the events.xml file in Dropbox > Apps > Breeze Booth for iPad > events

Starting Clean

If you want to start fresh:

  1. Create a folder called events in Dropbox > Apps > Breeze Booth for iPad
  2. In Event Editor, go to File > New and navigate to Dropbox > Apps > Breeze Booth for iPad > events
  3. Create a file called events.xml
  4. Create or import your events

Once complete, you can sync your events from Breeze Booth by going to Events menu > Update All Events.

Private Web Server

If you need total control over where your data is stored and how it is synced, you can sync events from your own Private Web Server.
This could be hosted in your office or by a 3rd party commercial provider.
